Thanks to Fund for Teachers for this incredible opportunity!

I had a very smooth trip.  All flights on time.   The airport looks like it is out of Casa Blanca!  Javier with the shuttle service, BajioGo, picked me up at BJX.  Great conversation and safe driving to San Miguel de Allende.

San Miguel de Allende is a pedestrian town.  Javier parked a block away from my VRBO.  He navigated the cobblestones with my 2 large suitcases.   Holly, the owner, met us at the gate and welcomed us into her beautiful "tree house"!

What an enchanting place!  I woke to the most beautiful bird sounds.  Morning doves, roosters, swallows.

I also love the tolling of the church bells.  And, the ringing isn't computerized!

The climate is nice and dry.
It reminds me of the high desert in Twenty Palms, outside of
Palm Springs, California.

Colorful delights in the mercado and alleyways

And, a delicious lunch.  Pork Carnita!

  3. I agree with Claire. Your photos are beautiful. I'm going to enjoy watching so much unfold here and will also enjoy sharing this with friends. Of course, I hope you can add some extra sentences in Spanish as your studies progress. Chris :-)
